Giants vs Buccaneers

By: Jay Pounds (@jaypoundsnfl)

What is up Dynasty Owners? Welcome back to another episode of Jay’s Value of the Game prediction does nothing on Monday night! In last week’s article, I had Elijah Mitchell pegged as my Value of the Game and he missed the mark with his teammate Deebo Samuel leading the way. Deebo has taken the league by storm in his third season and while I thought he had a chance at Value of the Game, I thought Elijah Mitchell’s low salary ($915,982) would keep him ahead and would ultimately be too much to overcome. Well, I found out when it’s Deebo’s year, it’s Deebo’s year. Even at a little under double the amount of Mitchell’s salary ($1,811,869), Deebo Samuel still ended as last week’s Value of the Game. It is remarkable what Deebo Samuel has been able to do thus far, and I see no reason it stops here!

What to Watch For

Welcome back to another addition of, What to Watch For! In tonight’s game, there are a few things I will be looking for, but I must admit the biggest, intriguing story line coming out of this game is Brady’s lack of success against the Men in Blue. Sorry for the reminder, Steve Van Tassell. Those must be bad memories, but as a Patriots fan it’s the only upsetting moments you have had in recent memory, and I am sure you are more than ok with a few bad moments for all the good Brady brought throughout the years. All jokes aside, I will be keeping an eye on how Tom Brady performs as he has struggled over the past two weeks in losses to the Saints and Football Team. The only other major thing I will be looking for on the Bucs side of the ball is the depth behind Mike Evans and Chris Godwin and who gets the targets with Antonio Brown out. On the other side of the ball, we have Tom Brady’s biggest nemesis, the New York Giants. The last couple things I will be watching for on this game all have to do with Giants’ personnel. Kenny Golladay has been banged throughout this season missing Weeks 5-8 with injuries before coming back to a quiet outing in Week 9. If Saquon Barkley, Sterling Shepard, Kadarius Toney, and Golladay can all get right this Giants offense may be going somewhere. Let’s see if at least three of the four can get back to normal this week.

Jay’s Dynasty Owner Games of the Week

Each week I will pick two games that are close in score and will likely be decided during Monday Night Football. If you happen to find yourself in this situation on Sunday night, please get ahold of me on Twitter (@jaypoundsnfl) and I will gladly feature your game here.

Game 1 – League #27483 (Beta Test League #3)

Quaranteam – Playoff Lenny (aka Leonard Fournette) in Starting lineup left to play

As a good friend of mine, I hope Quaranteam finds a way to pull out the victory, but if you checked out my projections earlier in the article you will see I don’t think it will happen. Tom Brady has struggled some over the past few weeks losing against the Saints and Football Team which makes me feel as if Brady is going to come out and prove a point. Every time I hear conversations about Brady being on the decline, he goes on a massive MVP type run. One thing I’ve learned in my years as a sports fan, never bet against Tom Brady! Quaranteam certainly has a shot, but they will need a low scoring game to win. Is it going to be Playoff Lenny time?

VIP Club Dub – Chris Godwin in Starting lineup left to play

VIP Club Dub, who I will refer to as Dub, has themselves in an excellent spot going into Monday night. Tom Brady tends to shine on the big stage and during the season, no games are bigger than Monday Night Football. I am expecting Brady to come out on fire to make a statement and that spells good things for Chris Godwin. As I mentioned earlier, a low scoring game would benefit Dub’s opponent Quaranteam, while Dub is hoping for a typical Brady with the Bucs game to pull out a win.

Game 2 – League #30058

Doritos Cheese Ninja Squad – No one in Starting lineup or on Bench left to play

Doritos Cheese Ninja Squad currently leads heading into Monday night’s matchup and after checking out my projections, they should be feeling pretty good about winning their match-up this week. In an extremely tight contest by projections, Doritos Cheese Ninja Squad is projected to lose by just .26 points. While I typically hate this scenario where you are left to watch and hope, I would not mind being in this spot at all this week. Doritos Cheese Ninja Squad should pull this one out by a couple of points with Tom Brady making it a point to put up big numbers and keep Leonard Fournette’s production down.

Nashville Riverboat Gamblers – Playoff Lenny (aka Leonard Fournette) in Starting lineup left to play

Finally, we have Nashville Riverboat Gamblers making their first appearance of the season in Jay’s Dynasty Owner Games of the Week. They have just one player left to play and as I mentioned in the Game 1 preview for Quaranteam, Riverboat Gamblers will likely need a low scoring contest to pull out the win. However, if Playoff Lenny continues to put up solid PPR numbers, this matchup could get dicey fast. Good luck to those of you depending on Playoff Lenny, I believe you will need it tonight.

Value of the Game

Over the course of this season, I have had a tough time finding the Value of the Game. There have only been one or two games where the value truly stuck out, but either way we are going to keep trying. In case you missed it, Diontae Johnson had the game on Sunday night (7 catches, 101 yards, 1 TD) that I was expecting when I selected him as my Value of the Game two weeks ago against the Chicago Bears.

As the end of Week 11 draws near, it means it is now time for me to give it a go again and tonight, I will be rolling with the youngster Tyler Johnson. In this game, all the usual players you would think of when seeing this matchup on paper just have too high of a salary to be considered for Value of the Game. One option I have is to select a higher priced player, but even Kadarius Toney at just over a $3 million in salary would have trouble keeping up with a player who produces a few Dynasty Owner fantasy points and is under $1,000,000 in salary on Dynasty Owner. If the main guys produce big like expected in this game, it is entirely possible we see someone win this award who has a stat line around two catches for 20 yards. Sometimes values jump off the paper, sometimes you can’t see them if you look through a magnifying glass! Tyler Johnson ($902,355) has seemed to gain Brady’s trust more and more each time they take the field together and with Antonio Brown out for tonight’s game, it is time for Johnson to step up on national TV and get people familiar with his name. Tyler Johnson is my Week 11 Value of the Game!
