What To Watch For

I don’t like to get too caught up in hyperbole or dramatization, but I wholeheartedly mean this when I say it…There is a very real possibility that we are about to get the best Thursday Night Football game of the season in Week 1. Not only that, but we could be witnessing the next Super Bowl matchup on Thursday as well. It would not shock me one bit to see both of these teams meet again in the biggest game of the year.

So, what am I watching for?

I’m looking for lots and lots of scoring. I want just about every player I can get in this game. I will talk about it in a few minutes, but this could set the record for most players I would want to start in a Thursday Night matchup. Just think about the names we are about to watch…Diggs, Kupp, Stafford, J. Allen, Akers, A. Robinson, G. Davis. Those players are just the start. Sit back and enjoy a very entertaining game.

Value of the Game Recap

If you remember from last season, I presented a Value of the Game prediction in each weekly article. Obviously, with this being the first Thursday Night Football game, there will be no recap section. Check in here next week to see if I nailed the prediction.

Starters

All the players on this list are ones that I would be very comfortable starting in Dynasty Owner this week.

Matthew Stafford ($27,000,000)

Josh Allen ($43,005,667)

Cam Akers ($1,543,258)

Devin Singletary ($974,500)

Cooper Kupp ($15,750,000)

Allen Robinson ($15,500,000)

Stefon Diggs ($14,400,000)

Gabriel Davis ($998,595)

Tyler Higbee ($7,250,000)

Dawson Knox ($880,400)

Bench

Here at Dynasty Owner, you not only get points from your starting lineup, but also from your Bench. Your Dynasty Owner teams get 25% of the points scored from players on your Bench added to your total final score. This means that Bench scoring could (and often does) affect the outcome of individual matchups as well as championships. Here are the players I would be okay putting on my Bench.

Darrell Henderson ($1,053,001)

James Cook ($1,458,014)

Isaiah McKenzie ($2,200,000)

Van Jefferson ($1,402,784) would have made this list, but he has been ruled out.

Value of the Game

Finally, let me present to you my “Value of the Game.” This is my prediction as to who will be the greatest value in Dynasty Owner for the game. Because Dynasty Owner uses real NFL salaries, Dynasty Owners need to have players at all salary levels on their teams (just like real NFL teams do). Every week, I will pick the player who might not have the most Dynasty Owner fantasy points (DOFP), but is the best “value” in terms of Dynasty Dollars per Point (DD/PT) for the week.

This week’s pick is:

Week 1 ProjectionSalaryReceptionsReceiving YardsTDsDOFP
Gabriel Davis$998,5956108231.8

This is the most dominant performance I’ve ever predicted for a Value of the Game (VOTG). I have Gabe Davis pulling off a massive breakout tonight. Not only will he be the VOTG, but he will score more Dynasty Owner fantasy points than any non-quarterback in this game. Davis is primed for a Top 15 season, and it is going to start this Thursday night. Look for him to catch two touchdown passes with one being the go ahead score late in the game. That late score will earn his Dynasty Owners an extra 3 points as a Clutch scoring event. A Clutch score is any TD or FG that results in a lead change (score is tied or takes the lead) in the final two minutes of the fourth quarter or anytime during overtime.

Don’t forget to check back in next week to see if the VOTG is correct.  I wish all of you a great opening week.  Thank you all for reading.  Take care and be safe.
